Flown to the Grand Opening of Chanel

The Grand Opening of Chanel in Gurney Plaza was held on the 14th November and they hosted top clientele, socialites and media for the event.

To create the atmosphere of fun and laughter in a sleek fashion, I was flown to Penang to share my iPad Magic to the wonderful guests.

When I perform magic combined with technology, the audiences would react in a surprised manner as they have never seen innovation in magic in that form.

Throughout the evening, I blended myself in the boutique and delighted the guests with my magic while they were pampered by Chanel with champagne, gifts and Christmas Cookies

Was truly a magical evening for the guests and myself!

Chopard: Happiness (An Act on Happiness Thru Magic)

Immediately after my trip from Japan, I came back to Singapore to perform a customized performance on the theme Happiness.

This event was jointly organized by Cortina and Chopard, “The Pursuit of Happy-ness”. I was delighted (or should I say, happy) to be able to storyboard a performance like this for them. In my years as an undergraduate psychology student, I learnt many things about happiness in my positive psychology class. I had to justify my degree and this fell right into place for that!

I spoke about the Hedonistic Threadmill in which the pursuit of money in itself will lead to habituation and in fact, the lack of happiness. I exemplified this theme by performing a routine where I make money appear out of my iPad.

Then I also spoke about having close relationships and social support as fundamental to positive mental health.

As a finale, I summarized the points to consider when it comes to happiness by symbolizing happiness as a balloon on a string, I tore the pieces of the string up sharing that having just one component of happiness is not enough. I magically fused them into one string, and share that a wholesome approach is the best.

I guess you can say that I had a great time, and it was truly, a happy ending!

Star Struck at Bvlgari: Magic for Zoe Tay, Fann Wong and Sam Willows

I previously spoke about how performing magic for luxury brands and how it requires a good fit in terms of image of the magician and brand as well. And it brings me great joy (and a nice pat on my own back) to be able to perform for Bvlgari again. This time, at their prestigious Pop Up Event where they invited Zoe Tay, Fann Wong and Sam Willows.

On top of top Singapore celebrities and A-listers, there were many socialites who attended the event. The iPad Magic performed had to be of high calibre and classy.

It can be quite nerve wrecking to perform for celebrities, and I actually had to regroup myself before approaching them. At the end, I realised that magic broke the ice and they react like how most people would too.

An excellent night it was, a truly wonderful privilege to share my magic :)
